Nexus Display Technologies LLC
This portfolio pertains to digital video interfaces including but not limited to the DisplayPort standard. DisplayPort is a digital display interface standard used to transmit and receive digital multimedia data between connected devices, such as a computer and a monitor. Formally approved by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) in May of 2006, DisplayPort was developed to handle the increased data traffic required for displaying higher video resolutions on consumer electronic devices. According to the DisplayPort website, the DisplayPort standard delivers “the highest resolutions, fastest refresh rates, and deepest colors,” as compared to older transmission standards, such as VGA and DVI. The patented inventions in this portfolio form the foundation of the DisplayPort standard and enable it to support high resolutions, fast refresh rates, and more color information than older transmission standards.
